So yesterday while my friend Nick and I were at our internship we decided to grab some lunch and popped into Furama on a whim. We came so close to trying it one day and ended up having to leave right before the food was served! Boy was I pissed! Lol it was totally my fault but oh well. ANYWAYS!!!! We were seated instantly, because there weren't that many people seeing as it was 2:30pm on a Wednesday. The dining room was elegantly set up, there were ornate decorations all over. It seemed like a family oriented restaurant because they had so many round tables. The waiters and waitresses were dressed up nicely as well. It was beautiful. Our waitress took our order and was very attentive. The lunch menu was amazing! The prices were super affordable (they were similar to any other Chinese food place I've went to but cheaper!). Nick ordered the Kung Pao Chicken and I ordered Orange Chicken. Our order came with a small soup of the day which happened to be egg drop. Deee-li-cious. Wasn't salty or anything. AND it was hot! Then, our orders came. Egg drop soup Both of our dishes came with a side of white rice which was formed into a little bowl and turned upside down on our plates. There were silver dishes on top of our chicken that were removed as soon as the waitress set them on the table. Let me tell you I thought I was too fancy!! The Orange Chicken was amazing. I think the best I've had! Not only was it piping hot but it was crispy (as if it was just fried) and it had some little red peppers mixed into the sauce. BEWARE. They are hot as hell. I love spicy food and I tend to think my tolerance is pretty high but I popped one of those suckers into my mouth and I was on fire! :O I had Nick try a huge one, convinced that he was going to explode, but it didn't happen. Maybe my tolerance is not that high, OR MAYBE THAT LITTLE BABY ONE IS THE DEVIL! But you know. Whatever. -.- Orange Chicken with steamed white rice I didn't try the Kung Pao Chicken that Nick had ordered but he said it was good. His only complaint was there were too many peanuts. The serving was a decent size. I was full halfway through but it was good so I finished it. :) We ended our meal with glorious fortune cookies. The check together came out to $16.40, which considering everything we got was cheap! We ordered a pop, 2 lunches, and 2 soups. Plus we got fortune cookies! Nick and I both agreed that Furama deserves 4 stars based on the quality of the food, dining atmosphere/experience and service. Definitely, recommend for a cute date, lunch time, or family outing! It's now my new spot for Chinese food! Do you have a favorite spot for Chinese food? Comment it below! P.S. We both ate with chopsticks and the bathrooms smelled nice :)
